The 2012 Jeep Wrangler is a convertible SUV. It is sold in 2-door (Wrangler) and 4-door (Wrangler Unlimited) body styles, and is offered in three different trim levels. Sixteen-inch steel wheels are standard, with larger alloy wheels available.

Interior Features
The 2012 Jeep Wrangler offers seating for 5 passengers. Base Wrangler features include crank windows, front and rear tow hooks, manual door locks, manual mirrors, cruise control, and a tilt steering wheel. Upgraded trim levels are fitted with air conditioning, front and rear locking differentials, leather upholstery, disconnecting sway bar, satellite radio, and other premium equipment.

Optional Features

All 2012 Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited models are fitted with a 3.6-liter V-6 engine rated at 285 horsepower. The standard transmission is a 6-speed manual, with a new 5-speed automatic optional. All Wrangler models are 4WD—a system with high- and low-range transfer cases for off-road duty.

Safety
Standard safety features of note on the 2012 Jeep Wrangler include stability control and hill start assist—front and side air bags are optional. The Wrangler has not been tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). In tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Wrangler received a ''Good'' rating—the Institute's highest—for frontal-offset crash protection. For side-impact crash protection, the Wrangler received a "Poor" rating—the Institute's lowest. Roof strength was not tested.
